Case Study: Sectional Fell of Diseased Wild Pear (Pyrus Communis)

Here we have a Wild Pear that was suffering from a form of Brown rot causing a massive cavity in the stem. As there was only approximately 30% safe holding wood it had to be taken down using a number of different techniques (lowering ropes, pole saws and a scaffolding tower). The weight of the canopy needed to be kept even as there was a possibility of the tree falling over if made unbalanced.
